Herizons Magazine – Board Member and Editorial Committee member – March 1999 – February 2001 and October 2003 – Present
HERIZONS is a quarterly Canadian feminist magazine that delivers the inside scoop on the Canadian women’s movement: health, activism, the environment and legal cases affecting women. Herizons serves up feminist satire and plenty of news at a glance. Canada’s largest feminist magazine is a unique hybrid of non-profit business, feminist publishing and advocacy journalism. Herizons is published in Winnipeg and distributed in every part of Canada. Originally started as a regional newspaper in 1979, HERIZONS has grown into a strong national magazine with a dedicated readership that spans the country and its regions.

Collectively the Board isresponsible for financial and administrative management of the Magazine.

SEED Winnipeg Inc. is a non-profit agency that works to reduce poverty and help renew Winnipeg’s inner city; they this by helping people start small businesses and save money for future goals.

Winnipeg Folk Festival – Board Member 2015 – Present
The Winnipeg Folk Festival is a year-round arts organization that presents one of North America’s premier outdoor music festivals each July. The Festival’s mission and vision are to create experiences of discovery and learning through the celebration of people and music and play a leading role in making Winnipeg the folk music capital of North America. The Festival’s Core Values are Artistic Excellence; Collaboration; Community; Creative Expression; Entrepreneurship; Environmental Sustainability; Excellence in Governance and Management; Inclusiveness; and Serendipity

The Winnipeg Folk Festival Board of Directors is a diverse group of community leaders and key decision makers who provide strategic leadership to the organization.

CKUW 95.9 FM, Winnipeg – Live Radio Producer and Host 1997 – Present
CKUW is the on-campus FM radio station at the University of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada.

For over 15 years, my sister and I have been hosting our radio program Check Ca on CKUW 95.9 FM. We’re just two sisters who love music – of all different sorts. We love to share what we have & always like to hear new stuff. We enjoy researching and exploring the community connections with radio. Radio is such a great medium for learning and sharing and just being able to express yourself! West End Commons – Board Member – June 2014 – Present
The WestEnd Commons is a project of St Matthews Non Profit Housing Inc., a partnership between Grain of Wheat Church-Community and St Matthew’s Anglican Church.

The current upper floors of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church have been transformed into 26 homes for families: single parent families, newcomers to Canada, First Nation’s families, people with mental health challenges, and others. The WestEnd Commons consists of a 1,000 sq. foot atrium, 4 one-bedroom, 15 two-bedroom, 5 three-bedroom, and 2 four-bedroom apartments. On November 1, 2014 we began welcoming families to their new homes. For 40 years the lower level of 641 St. Matthews Ave. has been a Neighbourhood Resource Center. Five agencies and community groups work in the Neighbourhood Resource Centre to support the people of West Central Winnipeg.

Friends of Sherbrook Pool – Board Member – September 2012 – Present
Friends of Sherbrook Pool is dedicated to the preservation, marketing and improvement of Sherbrook Pool as an inner-city community facility serving aquatic, recreational, educational, social and fitness needs of City of Winnipeg residents. We also run KidSwim and a Summer Swim Camp, programs that offer free swimming lessons and recreation activities for kids ages 6 to 12.

Friends of Sherbook Pool was founded in 1992 by a group of socially minded people when the City threatened to close the pool. They gathered together community members, organizations and government officials and fought to keep the Sherbrook Pool open. 22 years later, our mission continues to be to maintain and improve the Sherbrook Pool as a landmark and resource for the neighbourhood.
